Ignite Creative Services started the Ignite's Family First Career Networking Initiative as an opportunity to use our network within the Food and Beverage Industry to help those impacted by COVID-19 find jobs.

Our mission is to support friends, family and hardworking individuals who have been impacted by COVID-19 by being a conduit that connects individuals looking for career opportunities with companies looking for talent.

This industry and all individuals within it have been affected in one way or another and we have confidence our support helps give purpose through all of this uncertainty. Personal and professional life are interconnected and as a result, this initiative is designed to breakthrough traditional boundaries and create new networking solutions to help get people back to work.

Along the way you/we may gain a new friend or colleague and if that’s all this does, we will feel comforted and accomplished in this effort. It takes a village and we can all support together. Join us in this effort to “Ignite the Opportunities” and create new paths for friends and family in our industry.

 I have been in the hospitality industry for more than 30 years. I started my career with humbles roots by starting out as a dishwasher and moved quickly through the culinary side of the hospitality industry where he became a renowned Executive Chef for many leading Restaurant groups in the greater Boston area. 

Prior to joining New Castle Hotels, I was the President and owner of Network Hospitality, which owned and operated 2 hotels and a 4-star Inn with a large restaurant / catering operation. I was also with several industry leaders such as Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Interstate Hotels, Beacon Hotels, and The Iyannough Management where he held such Positions as General Manager, Corporate Director of Food & Beverage, Director of Operations, and Director of Food & Beverage, Corporate Executive Chef and Executive Chef. I am also a Certified Food & Beverage Executive (C.F.B.E.) by the American Hotel & Lodging Association. 

In 1996, I joined New Castle Hotels as a Food & Beverage Specialist assisting in the opening of the Westin Nova Scotian in Halifax, Nova Scotia, The Sheraton Hotel in Waterbury CT. Then was brought on as Vice President of Food & Beverage / Managing Director of Provender & Special Projects Manager for New Castle Hotels & Resort overseeing the development of the food & beverage operations as it pertains to the Training of associates in Culinary concepts, service, menu development, food & beverage marketing and new concept designs and implementation. During this time, I have been involved in the construction development and building of 32 hotels as well the development of restaurant concepts such as Basil’s, The Limestone Grille, Godfrey’s Grille, Rioja’s, SB&G, The Reserve Steakhouse, Salty’s and The Ripley Grille. I was recently overseeing 33 operating hotels and 6 hotels that are under development. 

As Managing Director of Provender LLC, I developed and maintained a purchasing division for NCHR that leverage NCHR’s purchasing power creating more than $1M in savings annually as well as generating nearly $450K for NCHR on a annual basis in manufacturing rebates / incentives. 

I also oversaw all the Rooms Division Operations, including housekeeping and engineering were in 2016 I revamped all the tools, chemicals and training support of this department to bring it into the 21st century with regards to how guest rooms are cleaned and serviced today as compared to 25 years ago. Since the roll out of the new Housekeeping Programing, the company has seen great success in associate retention, productivity and morale. 

I had developed a partnership with Johnson & Wales University in Providence Rhode Island, where he has created a personalized curriculum for NCHR for all of New Castle Hotels’ Chefs, the Directors of Catering and the Director’s of Food & Beverage to attend an intense week long program focusing in on the culinary and beverage aspects of the hospitality industry.
