Last month, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema celebrated Beetlejuice Beetlejuice with a spooky menu and exclusive Deschutes Brewery pairings. Drawing inspiration from Tim Burton’s whimsical, eerie tribute to the Netherworld, they’ve crafted their own delicious dishes and paired them with your favorite Deschutes brews for a theater filled with fun, flavors, and nostalgia. As Alamo Drafthouse Executive Chef Brad Sorenson shared with PEOPLE, designing a spooky menu wasn’t easy, but the film’s unforgettable scenes sparked creative ideas. A hauntingly delicious beer dinner featuring Deschutes Brewery’s craft brews paired with imaginative dishes inspired by the movie’s dark humor and vibrant style.

Special Menu Highlights

  • Beetlewings Beetlewings: Crispy lemon pepper chicken wings, served with ranch and celery. A hauntingly good way to kick off your dining experience.
  • Sandwich for the Recently Deceased: Beer-braised pulled pork with mustard barbecue sauce, pickles, and pickled red onion on a toasted bun, paired with crispy fries. A taste so good, you’ll feel resurrected!
  • Tally Me Banana Pudding: A Southern favorite, layered with Nilla Wafers, bananas, and house-made pudding. Sweet enough to wake the dead.
  • The Juice is Loose IPA: Enjoy a cold glass of Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA – the perfect drink for any ghost with the most!
  • Sandworm Popcorn Bucket: Limited-edition popcorn bucket filled with freshly made popcorn, available with real clarified butter.

Beer Dinner Menu

To complete the spooky experience, Alamo also poured some of Deschutes Brewery’s finest craft brews, carefully paired with featured items to enhance the eerie yet delicious vibe. The beer dinner event was an evening of dark humor, quirky bites, and haunted sips.

Beer Dinner Courses

  • First Course:
    Shrimp Cocktail for the Recently Deceased
    Poached shrimp with caper cocktail sauce and avocado “ceviche,” paired with Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA.
  • Second Course:
    Beetlebeef, Betelbœuf, Beetle Beef
    Coke-braised beef with handmade striped pasta, brown butter, vegetables, and fungi. Paired with Deschutes King Crispy Pilsner.
  • Third Course:
    Banana Boat
    A rich chocolate-banana terrine with rum caramel and cocoa nib-peppercorn shortbread. Paired with Deschutes Black Butte Porter.
